Did we mention that we pay you to enjoy what is then the most rewarding year of your life? Our U.S. Fellows receive $70,000 – distributed as $8,750 monthly – from September through April. Stipend details vary for international Fellows and are worked out on an individual basis.
All tuition and course fees at the University of Michigan are paid for by the Fellowship. In addition, all Fellowship trips – domestic and international – are covered.
Health insurance is provided to Fellows and their families, if their employer does not contribute to their insurance coverage.
The Fellowship also offers both fiction and non-fiction writing workshops as well as multimedia technology workshops in which Fellows learn to shoot and edit video, write for TV and how to act in front of the camera.
We have designed a series of entrepreunerual workshops specfically for Knight-Wallace Fellows. In a series of hands-on seminars, fellows survey emerging news models, examine case studies and discuss and generate entreprenerial ideas for today’s media.
